The Data Sources section lets you expand Alcemi’s knowledge with store-specific content. This ensures the agent can answer customer questions accurately and in your brand’s voice.

Web Scrape

You don’t need to manually type out all your policies if they already exist on your website. Alcemi includes a powerful Web Scrape feature:

  • Simply paste the URL of your existing FAQ, Shipping Policy, About Us, or Blog page.
  • Alcemi will automatically crawl the page, extract the relevant text, and instantly ingest it into the agent’s knowledge base.
  • Tip: You can scrape multiple pages one by one to quickly build up a comprehensive knowledge base without copying and pasting.

If you have internal documents or want to manually add question-answer pairs, you can still upload files or create FAQs directly:

  • Maximum file size: 10 MB per file
  • Total storage: 50 MB across all uploads
  • Supported file types: .txt, .csv, .docx, .pdf

You can upload documents, scrape URLs, or add FAQs that cover anything your customers might ask about:

  • Store FAQs: Returns, exchanges, refunds, warranty.
  • Policies: Shipping, privacy, custom order terms.
  • Product details: Materials used, sizing guides, compatibility with other products.
  • Category information: Descriptions of product collections or special categories.
  • Service details: Gift wrapping, custom engraving, delivery options, repairs.
  • Brand information: Background about the brands you carry, or your own brand story.
  • Care & maintenance: How to clean, maintain, or use your products effectively.
  • Other unique info: Anything you frequently get questions about that isn’t already in Shopify.

The more accurate and specific the content in your knowledge base, the more helpful Alcemi will be. This reduces repetitive support inquiries, increases customer confidence, and improves conversion rates.
