Product Search Sync

Before Alcemi can start recommending products and answering customer queries, it needs to understand your store’s catalog. The Product Search Sync process ensures the AI has up-to-date information on all your products, variants, and collections.

Initial Synchronization (Required)

Syncing your catalog is a required step before the app can be used. When you first install Alcemi, you must run the initial sync from the Customization page in your Admin Panel.

• Background Process: Syncing runs entirely in the background. Depending on the size of your catalog, this may take a few minutes. You can safely close the page or navigate away while the sync is running.
• Resumable Sync: If the synchronization is interrupted for any reason (like closing the app or losing connection), Alcemi saves your progress. You can easily pick up where you left off by clicking Resume sync.
• Final Indexing: Once all products are processed, the system will finalize the data through an indexing phase, making everything instantly searchable for your customers.

Smart Filtering

To ensure optimal performance and relevance, Alcemi automatically filters out certain products. Draft, archived, unlisted, and free products (priced at $0.00) will not be synced.

Automatic Updates

Once the initial sync is complete, you do not need to manually resync every time you make a change to your store. Alcemi automatically listens for updates in the background.

If you create, update, or delete a product, variant, or collection in Shopify, Alcemi will automatically sync those changes to the AI agent in real-time.

Resync & Clear Data

If you ever need to start fresh or suspect that your catalog data is out of sync, you have options available in the sync panel:

• Resync: Forces a fresh synchronization of your entire catalog to catch any missed updates.
• Clear: Removes all synced product data from Alcemi’s database. Note: The agent will not be able to recommend products until a new sync is completed.
